75 years ago, the battle began at the legendary Luga line. Historians count the beginning of the heroic defense of Leningrad from July 10, 1941 ─ the day when the Nazi troops crossed the border of the Leningrad region. In the history of the Great Patriotic War, the defense of the Luga line occupies a special place. At the cost of their own lives, the inhabitants of the city and the region delayed the advance of the enemy on Leningrad.
Memorial events will begin with a rally on Langina Gora in Luga and laying flowers and wreaths at the memorial complex "Luga frontier". On the banks of the Luga River, members of the military-historical clubs of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, together with activists of the all-Russian movement " Victory Volunteers " reconstruct the battles of the Red Army with the enemy advancing on Leningrad.
