Petersburg celebrates the anniversary of the liberation from the blockade

72 years ago, Leningrad was completely liberated from the fascist blockade.

The Siege of Leningrad is one of the most heroic and tragic pages in the history of the Great Patriotic War. Eternal memory and endless gratitude to those who survived 900 blockade days and nights, worked in the rear and defended the city. Thanks to their unparalleled courage and resilience, the city survived. Today solemn and mourning events took place in the city - at Piskarevsky Memorial Cemetery, on Nevsky Prospect, in the evening at 21:00 at the Peter and Paul Fortress they will give a 30-volley artillery salute.

I wish you health and happiness, dear veterans!
