Fragments of the Soviet Yak-7 fighter raised from the swamp at Ladoga

Fragments of a Soviet fighter are picked up from the swamp under Cobona on Ladoga "Yak -7". A few years ago, local residents noticed details sticking out of the swamp.

Two weeks were preparing for the expedition. It took even special equipment. The details of the aircraft, which had lain for more than 70 years at a depth of 3 meters, are perfectly preserved. The number on the engine is read without difficulty - the car was piloted by Junior Lieutenant Alexander Khoroshkov. On May 30, 1943, when he covered the Volkhov State District Power Plant, the plane was hit and the pilot was severely injured. He could have ejected from a burning plane, but seeing a German bomber nearby "Henkel -111", made an unequivocal choice - to bring down the enemy. Khoroshkov sent the car straight into the nose of the enemy plane. For this feat, Alexander Khoroshkov was awarded the Order of the Battle Red Banner. Officially, he is considered missing.

Both aircraft will be part of the exposition dedicated to the last battle of the guard lieutenant. German Henkel was found nearby in the same places.
