Yakov Osipovich Rubanchik, a famous Leningrad architect, received more than 30 awards for his work. Together with other architects (A. K. Barutchev, I. A. Gilter and I. A. Meerzon) participated in the design and construction of buildings in various parts of the city. Yakov Rubanchik carried out dimensional drawings, drawings of the Vorontsov Palace and the Maltese Chapel and made sketches of the life of the besieged city. “These are the images that were left behind the frame of the well-known blockade photo and newsreels, which we learn only now from recently opened and published diaries and memoirs,” say employees of the State Museum of the History of St. Petersburg.
