September 8 marks the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Siege of Leningrad. On this day in 1941, the occupation of the city began. Every Leningrad and St. Petersburg citizen still carries in his heart the memory of those terrible 900 days. But neither terrible hunger nor cold broke Leningrad, no matter what the city continued to live. The courage and steadfastness of the Leningraders who survived the blockade shocked the whole world.
Eternal memory to the heroes! Glory to the defenders and residents of besieged Leningrad! May heaven always be peaceful!
