In the Leningrad region opened a monument to children who died during the evacuation. The opening of the monument was timed to the anniversary of this tragedy - exactly 75 years ago, German troops made a ruthless airstrike on the city of Tikhvin. So many bombs were dropped on this strategic point of the Road of Life that it was impossible to approach the station for several hours - it was burning so hard.

The exact death toll has not yet been established, the enemy fire destroyed the trains with children and the wounded, who were sent to evacuate. Now the memory of these victims of the war will be immortalized.
