Work begins on new themes: New Year's celebrations in the besieged city, when, despite the most difficult conditions, "New Year trees"; the role of women, strong in spirit, overcame all the hardships of wartime; The church life of the besieged city is an important but little-known page in the history of Leningrad. Experts on the blockade are working on these materials: Doctor of Historical Sciences, Chief Archivist of the Central State Archive of St. Petersburg, Mikhail Vitalyevich Shkarovsky, and Leading Researcher, Head of the Research and Exhibition Department of the Museum of Defense and Siege of Leningrad, Irina Muravyova.
These thematic sections will be prepared using archival photographic materials and documents, as well as diaries of residents of the besieged city.
