December 3 marks the Day of the Unknown Soldier

On Wednesday, December 3, at 12:00, wreath and flower laying ceremonies will be held, dedicated to the Day of the Unknown Soldier. Mourning and ceremonial events will be held at the Piskaryovsky memorial cemetery in the village of Nevskaya Dubrovka near the memorial "Fraternal military burial" and at the monument to the hero pilots of the Soviet Union. The ceremony will honor the memory of all Russian and Soviet soldiers who died in the fighting on the territory of Russia and abroad. The new date, which will now be celebrated annually, is timed to the significant event - December 3, 1966, on the 25th anniversary of the defeat of the German troops near Moscow, the ashes of an unknown soldier were buried near the Kremlin walls.
